Classic Era, 1963-1989
    As a rule of thumb, you can typically find Classic Doctor Who online through the Internet Archive. 
          I posted links to each season in the past, but unfortunately some of them were taken down. As such 
          from now on I'll just advise you to use DuckDuckGo and not any garbage Chromium-based search engines 
          to type in something like "Doctor Who season 10 1973 internet archive" to find it yourself.
          
              If that's not your style, all of Classic Doctor Who (except for serials which are partially or totally 
          lost) is also available on Tubi, with the exception of the very first serial An Unearthly Child, 
          which you will need to use The Internet Archive's library or otherwise acquire a copy to view. 
          
              BritBox also has all of Classic Who, again with the exception of lost episodes and partially recovered 
          serials, but including An Unearthly Child unlike Tubi. 
          
           
          
SIDE NOTE: 1963-1969 LOST MEDIA
    Up until the 1970s, the BBC would clear and re-use tapes of their old programs to make way for new ones.
          Some of these wiped episodes have not been fully recovered and cannot be viewed today. To read more

The Wilderness Years, 1989-2004
      In 1989, due to internal politics at the BBC, Doctor Who was cancelled (although at the time they 
   said it was "on hiatus"). The late 1980s had been a fraught and uncertain time for the show, but 
            fans remained interested in new stories. As a result, some non-TV stories were made. Some of these
            are, in my opinion, the very best of Doctor Who, and we couldn't have had New Who without them.
            Many fans choose not to engage with these works now as they are, for the most part, no longer
           "canonical" to Doctor Who. However, it's good to keep in mind that in the time they were written,
            they were the ONLY canon. Many installations in these series come highly recommended and these 
            series have enduring popularity to this day.
                 
                The Virgin New Adventures (1991-1997) were a series of books starring the Seventh Doctor, picking up
            where the TV show's story left off. Commonly abbreviated as VNAs or NAs.
                 
                The Doctor Who Movie (1996) was a straight to TV film meant to reboot the series for an American 
            audience. It failed in this regard, but it's good Doctor Who nonetheless. 
                 
                The Eighth Doctor Adventures (1997-2005) were another series of books, this time starring the Eighth
            Doctor, picking up where the movie leaves off. Commonly abbreviated as EDAs.
                 
                All three of these are available through The Internet Archive's library. If you have difficulty with
            digitally-reformatted books, try your local library system. I don't recommend getting into collecting
            physical copies of these books at the moment as they've all been out of print 20-30 years and can be
            pretty expensive.
                 
                Big Finish Productions gained license rights and started making Doctor Who full cast audio dramas in
            1999. Their earliest series to do so is known as the Main Range. Most of the older issues of the Main 
            Range are available on Spotify, and the Eighth Doctor Main Range is available through the Internet 
            Archive library. Big Finish has continued making audio dramas for Doctor Who to this day, and I would
            highly, HIGHLY recommend the Gallifrey spin-off series, which began in 2004.
            
            
New Who, 2005-present
       In 2005, Doctor Who was rebooted for TV and the rest is history. 
 
                The Internet Archive library has some early seasons of New Who available, just do the same searching
            as you would for Classic. Anything a decade or so more recent you'll have to either do some legitimate
            piracy for or you'll have to just pay up for a subscription. All series from 2005-2023 are on HBO, but
            unfortunately in the USA all series 2024 onwards are only available on Disney+. The new season 1/14/40
            is only available for streaming through Disney+ in the US and it's not really all that exciting, so if 
            you don't already have Disney+ I'd wait to get that free trial after season 41 comes out. They're 
            getting a bunch of really promising new writers on board so I'm expecting a much better result!

          There's some interesting differences between the original scripts and the final episodes. If you're 
          crazy like me, you might find it worth a look. 
          
    Avery's Doctor Who Listening Order and Guide
          A listening order guide for the Big Finish Audio stories, managed by a fellow Neocities user. If you 
          want to go back to the start and listen to everything in order, go ahead, but if you're a little less
          insane and just want to start with your favorite Doctor who happens to be in the Main Range, this is
          for you.

          International Films series available through this channel has been recommended highly to me.
